Education is no longer about teaching, it’s about targets, and just as Goodhart’s Law predicts, the outcome is extremely poor. Labour failing to keep another promise is the least of our worries.

But the birth rate has continued to fall so how can that be? Primary schools near me are shutting and merging. I’m very much not against them having more money per pupil and being well run, but I’m not sure training lots of teachers who will be out of jobs in a few years is a good idea.
